EDGE provides support to ethnic disabled people in the local community.

Services are available from 7.00 am to 10.00 pm, seven days per week, including all public and bank holidays.

All our carers are from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds so that we can take care of you and your loved ones in a way that suits your cultural and social needs, because we know that it matters.

Some of the services that we can offer are:

Assistance with personal care, which can include – help in getting in and out of bed; help in using the toilet, getting washed and bathed (including creaming skin and greasing hair); getting dressed.

The preparation and cooking of traditional Afro-Caribbean meals.

Help with shopping, domestic work and laundry.

Assistance with social activities.

Our Aims

• To treat clients as valued persons, with dignity as individuals,
• To consult and involve clients in their personal care, and to give appropriate care for their needs,
• To treat information given to staff with respect and confidentiality,
• To respect client’s cultural, religious, ethnic and sexual needs,
• To involve clients in decisions affecting services offered to them,
• Not forcing clients to do anything against their will,
• Allowing clients access to their records kept by EDGE Home Care Service,
• Providing clients with access to the complaints procedure,
• Ensuring that clients have their civil rights acknowledged and maintained.

Volunteer Project

We have volunteers who can help with IT training, National Vocation Qualifications (NVQ’s), Drop-in Centre, day trips, short holidays, appointments, and homecare.
