Courses at Trafford CIL
As part of our ongoing commitment to independent living throughout Trafford, we have a number of courses running here at the centre. These courses are completely free for all CIL members. To book onto one, simply click the contact us link and include which course you are interested in, your name and you contact details.

Introduction to English
- Every Thursday and Friday
- Sessions start at 1:00pm and finish at 3:30pm. Please arrive 15 minutes early
The class will run for 12 weeks and is open to all Trafford CIL members and service users. The course will cover:
- Reading
- Letter writing
- Spelling
- Speaking and listening skills
- Employment skills

Creative Writing Course
- Every Friday morning
- Sessions start at 10:00am and finish at 12:30pm. Please arrive 15 minutes early
This free course will run for 12 weeks and is open to all Trafford CIL members and service users.
Whether you are a budding writer or just keen to improve your English skills, this is the course for you!

Your course tutor will be Matthew Barnes, an experienced teacher who has worked with adults in Manchester for the last several years.
The aims of the course are:
Classes will take place in the Information Suite at Trafford CIL, and will be relaxed and friendly.
At the end of the course, you will receive a certificate!

- Sessions start at 2pm and end at 4pm each week. Please arrive 15 minutes early

- To promote self-advocacy (helping you to speak up for yourself)
- To work on life skills such as budgeting and housing needs
- To teach you how to ask for the information that you need
