Learning Disabilities

Trafford Learning Disability Partnership Board

Trafford's Learning Disability Partnership Board works towards achieving the objectives set out in the White Paper "Valuing People". These objectives are:

Transition into Adult Life

"Ensuring that each Connexions partnership provides a full service to learning disabled young people by identifying them, deploying
sufficient staff with the right competencies and co-ordinating the delivery of appropriate supports and opportunities."

More Choice and Control

"To enable people with Learning Disabilities to have as much choice and control over their lives through Advocacy and Person Centred approach to planning the services they need"

Good Health

"To enable people with Learning Disabilities to access a Health Service designed around their individual needs, with fast and convenient care delivered to a high standard, and with additional support if necessary"

Housing

"To enable people with Learning Disabilities and their families to have a greater choice in where, and how, they live"

Employment

"To enable more people with Learning Disabilities to participate in all forms of employment, whenever possible in paid work and to make a valued contribution to the world of work"

Quality Assurance

"To ensure that all agencies commission and provide high quality, evidence based, and continuously improving services which promote both good outcomes and best value"

Workforce Planning

"To ensure that Social and Health Care staff working with people with Learning Disabilities are appropriately skilled, trained and qualified; and to promote a better understanding of the needs of people with Learning Disabilities amongst the wider workforce"

As outlined in the "Valuing People" White Paper our Partnership Board reflects working in partnership with key agencies.

The Partnership Board currently meets quarterly. Issues and queries to be included in the agenda for the Partnership Board meetings should be sent to the Valuing People Co-ordinator at least two weeks prior to the next meeting.
